Big Wave at Dail Mor

Big Wave at Dail Mor - The Classic View
Taken on the Isle of Lewis. I used a long lens to bring Stacan a' Leothaid Ghlais into the frame and waited for the right moment to photograph the arc of the incoming wave.

The sun had set by this point and this allowed me to capture a little motion in the water with the use of a slightly longer shutter speed (and without the need to use a filter).

I was intrigued by the arc of the wave and the striking aqua colours which combined well with the sunset hue.

Canon 40D and 70-200 f/4L:
f/11 | 98mm | 0.3sec | ISO-200 | No filters used
