Glenfinnan Monument

Glenfinnan Monument - The Classic View
The Glenfinnan Monument situated here at the head of Loch Shiel was erected in 1815 to mark the place where Prince Charles Edward Stuart ("Bonnie Prince Charlie") raised his standard, at the beginning of the 1745 Jacobite Rising.

This is another classic viewpoint that has been done to death but it is without a doubt one of my favourite spots I have visited. Each time I pass this spot I appreciate the view down Loch Shiel, it is a stunning location.

I would ideally like to replace this image one day if I am ever lucky enough to photograph a colourful sunset while looking down the loch.
