Loch Beinn a' Mheadhoin

Loch Beinn a' Mheadhoin - The North West Highlands
This is a beautiful loch which is situated in Glen Affric and is well worth a visit. The image was taken in December following a long spell of freezing fog and severe frost.

I took this with a long lens from an elevated position looking down to the loch. What initially drew me to this scene was how the slightly blurred reflections in the water contrasted so well with the trees on the land (their clarity being very well defined by the sharp frost).

I really like the little cluster of trees at the bottom of the frame as their presence helps convey a sense of depth (in my eyes)

One of my favourites from 2008.
