Loch Shieldaig

Loch Shieldaig - The Classic View
I took this image in May while we were travelling on a very memorable drive that had begun at the 'Pass of the Cattle' to Applecross, and then north up the coastline to Shieldaig.

The scenery around Upper Loch Torridon is amongst the most spectacular I have seen in Scotland. To the west lies Loch Shieldaig and as I was driving along the coastal road I couldn't resist taking a photograph of this quirky little croft with its striking red roof.

For me this image is all about the cottage and how it's vibrant colours are a stark contrast to the rugged natural landscape beyond.
