Dail Beag Long Exposure - Minimalist Compositions

I arrived at Dail Beag for sunset at high tide. As a result there was little in the way of foreground interest and there was not a cloud to be seen. I spotted a lone rock protruding from the water and composed the image to isolate it in the frame.

I attached a neutral density filter to lengthen the exposure and therefore flatten the churning water. The sun had gone down by this point and the band of colour on the horizon was a stunning pink.
