Barns Ness Lighthouse

Barns Ness is located near Dunbar on the East coast of Scotland and was built by David A Stevenson. The light was first exhibited on 1 October 1901.
I arrived at the location long before the sunrise. There was not a great deal of cloud above the horizon therefore I opted to frame the lighthouse and present the scene as a silhouette with the gradiated colours of the sunrise providing the backdrop.
At this time of the morning a long exposure was inevitable and this resulted in the water being flattened and presented subtle reflections.
I love the two little windows at the foot of the tower that are reflecting the morning colours.
